Born in San Bernardino and raised through experiences in Rialto and Redlands, Gary Walker Jr.’s journey is built on perseverance, faith, discipline, and purpose. From an early age, Gary understood that success would require more than talent — it would require mindset, sacrifice, and the willingness to keep pushing forward through adversity.

Gary attended Frisbie Middle School and Rialto High School before continuing his academic and athletic career at Redlands East Valley High School, where he excelled both on and off the field. In 2009, Gary graduated and earned a full-ride scholarship to University of Idaho — a major milestone that reflected years of hard work and determination.

Despite facing the realities of inner city and the challenges that often come with being a young African American male pursuing higher goals, Gary refused to let circumstances define his future. College ALL 1st team 2 years in a row playing Safety for the Idaho Vandals 301 career tackles and 96 yard interceptions vs LSU. In 2013 Gary was blessed with the opportunity to continue his football journey with the Baltimore Ravens. Reaching the NFL became one of the highest accomplishments his athletic career.

But Gary’s story did not stop there.

After football, Gary felt called to give back to the community that helped shape him. Get Your Mind Right (GYMR) — a movement centered around discipline, leadership, faith, accountability, and personal growth. What started as a vision quickly became a source of inspiration for youth and families throughout the community.

Today, GYMR is more than a clothing brand. It is a lifestyle and a message that encourages young people to strengthen not only their athletic ability, but also their mindset, character, and overall wellness of the mind, body, and soul.

Through coaching, mentorship, training, and entrepreneurship, Gary has partnered with schools, colleges, and athletic programs to help develop the next generation. 

As the GYMR movement continues to grow, Gary’s mission remains the same:

to inspire hope, build leaders, and show young people — that their circumstances do not determine their future.
